Driven by hard work, a passion for challenging tasks, and the numerous mentors and advocates throughout her journey, Judith Phillips, MBA, has excelled in the Information Technology field for more than a decade. Also wielding expertise in project management and cybersecurity compliance, began her career in 2007 at Honeywell—a multinational conglomerate corporation—advancing from the role of IT Manager to Senior IT Manager, IT Director, and ultimately Senior IT Director by 2019. Since then, she has been active in leadership positions at BAE Systems, a British-based aerospace company, excelling as the Vice President of IT Governance and IT Delivery. In these positions, she connects with people and provides developmental feedback, encouragement, and support.
In preparation for her career, Ms. Phillips earned a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. To bolster her credentials further, she is an Advanced Certified ScrumMaster. Over the course of her professional life, she has been extremely proud to find her confidence and bring her authentic self to every job she has. Growing up, she saw great inspiration in African-American leaders and role models, from doctors and lawyers, who she said “looked like her,” which in turn planted the seed that she could achieve anything.
Outside of her main endeavors, she has dedicated four years of service as a board member for a national organization that provides essential services to cancer patients, cancer survivors, and caregivers. In addition, she was an executive co-sponsor for the Women’s Inclusive Network at BAE Systems for two years. Her passion for helping women has inspired her to seek out talented individuals within the organization, mentoring them to grow and develop their skills and move on to bigger and better opportunities.
